What I can't stop eating. Also some tidbits about my life that probably are of no particular interest to anyone.

Sea Salt and Rosemary crostini and seaside cheddar cheese from Whole Foods.

Also, I'm moving to what can best be described as a baller condo in Clarendon. Woohoo! But that's kind of why I've been missing for oh, a month - lots of stuff to sort out.

Oh! And I'm going to the best law school ever, in my opinion and trying to figure out how to finance it without having to sell my body to strangers on Friday and Saturday nights.

But there are good things coming, so stay tuned!

DC's answer to Pinkberry

Tried Sweetgreen tonight on M Street in Georgetown. It's a tiny little salad shop, where customers can make their own or choose from a list of "chef crafted" salads. I, however, skipped all that leafy stuff and went for the Sweetflow, or frozen yogurt.

It was Pinkberry-style, meaning that it was more tart than sweet, with a range of toppings to dress it up. I had a small ($4, and plenty big) with almonds, raspberries, and bits of chocolate chip cookies, and it was delicious. I'm sure Pinkberry, the yogurt chain that has exploded in California and New York, will eventually make its way here, but until then, Sweetgreen is a nice alternative.

The Power of Nuts

Doubly funny at 1:28 a.m. when you're supposed to be studying for a midterm.

Way better than the nutrition drink for old people

So...there's this candy bar called Boost. It's like a giant Twix except filled with twice the awesomeness. It's not really sold here (it's from England), which means that if I ever spot someone eating one in the States, I will probably judo chop them and pry it out of their cold, lifeless fingers. Because really, how can anything that says "Charged with Glucose" on the wrapper not be amazing?

I can't decide if I'm enough of a disgusting person to order 300-calorie candy bars in bulk online, but if you feel so inclined, you can order yourself a Boost bar here.

Holiday To Do List: Purchase 14 cats, lots of Funyuns, and "Anne of Green Gables" on DVD

"Do we have to? Her house smells like dehydrated onions and Fancy Feast."

You may be wondering why I am posting so much during the holiday season, as much as 2 posts a day, at a time when most people are busing being festive with family and friends. Here's why: my parents moved to the Flatlands (Missouri) shortly after I graduated high school, meaning that when I come "home," I have my mother, father, brother, and dog to hang out with and absolutely no friends, making me the 22-year-old equivalent of a loner cat lady. One can only watch so many episodes of a scantily-clad Sandra Lee pouring various bottles of booze into a blender and calling it a cocktail before it comes time for other pursuits to safeguard one's sanity. This includes taking shots with parental figures (read below) and throwing various spices into a bag of Pop Secret to see what they taste like.

Also, about the Funyuns, I don't even know, it just seems like something a cat lady would eat.

Party Popcorn
It's a party in your mowth, eh.

6 cups popped popcorn (light butter flavor is fine)
couple drizzles olive oil
1/2 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cinammon
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 Tbsp. light brown sugar

1. Drizzle a bit of olive oil onto the popcorn and then toss to coat.
2. Mix together all the spices and the brown sugar in a separate little dish, then sprinkle on the popcorn and toss.
3. Eat it, but probably don't share it with your cats.
